The Energy Union – A Wiring Scheme for Europe’s Energy Future

Energy Union is one of the main priorities of the Juncker Commission. The Communication adopted on 25 February outlines the strategy that evolves around five dimensions such as security of energy supply, internal energy market, decarbonisation and energy efficiency and lists the legislative and non-legislative initiatives that are planned over the next two years. In this Energy Flash Arne Koeppel and Constantine Levoyannis give an overview of the main elements of the proposed Energy Union and analyse the potential obstacles to its eventual success, and how they can be overcome.
